Matt Repsher’s pieces are wheel thrown using a red bricklike clay. Each piece is reticulated (carved out creating a regular openwork pattern) with repeated geometric surface textures that reflect his interest in architecture, structure and linear patterns.

The surface is combed with a saw blade, painted with colored engobes and finally scraped to remove some of the slip and expose the red clay below.
