Jim Connell is known for wheel-thrown stoneware and porcelain pieces. Often the thick-walled pieces are heavily carved and then typically sandblasted after the final firing. Some of the work is Raku fired. Connell has a strong interest in Chinese ceramics, particularly Yixing teapots.
